We're all set! I set us up with a free service. All you need is a valid email addy.
http://www.f1manager.info/index.php

Sub league:GTBN-F1
Password:numbers

When you register please use your board nickname (or something close) as your 'Manager Name'. Feel free to name your team whatever you like. You will not have to start managing your team when you register, you can do that at a later date.

After you activate your registration, look in the 'Personal' menu on the left and click 'My Subleagues'. On the next page look for 'Join Subleague' on the right and enter GTBN-F1 and hit search. The 'join' link is all the way on the right.

The league is open to anyone. Feel free to invite friends and members from the other GT boards if you like. A heads-up would be appreciated if it is someone nobody knows.

Short version for this fantasy league:

Pick two drivers, a chassis, an engine, and a tire brand.

You score points based on how well your picks perform in qualifying and in the race. The points you earn get you money you can use to upgrade to better drivers/equipment (goodbye, Mr. Massa; hello Mr. M. Schumacher ), but you get a rather large monetary penalty for any changes you make to the team.

Goal is to score the most championship points across the season, and hopefully do it while changing as little as possible.

If you click the flag for the race when you have 'my team' open it will show you how each selection scored in qualifying and the race.

So, who's going to set us up with a fantasy GTRC when the next season comes round?

And, even worse, does anyone want to find out what they're worth on the driver market !

This past weekend I made changes and blocked to protect my moves then opened it up after qualifying was completed.

That seems fair to me, but you can do whatever you want. Block or not..your call.

As a general rule (or two):

1. Nobody who is behind someone can catch him up by copying his choices.

2. Only the most conceited would think the guys already in front of him would want to copy him.

Hence no need to hide one's choices. QED.

Sadly, Gilles27 was able to execute my strategy (get Michael Schumacher ASAP) sooner than I was, due to having scored more points on the season.

It's going to be a tall order for anyone to catch him at this point.

He himself has yet to catch SuperSport. Any one of the current top 6 still has a decent shot, I'd say.

That's not entirely accurate.

Gilles only lost the points lead to SuperSport after Nurburgring. Now with MS in his line-up, Gilles is almost sure to go on a late-season blitz.

Even though SuperSport has a sizable lead, looking at their rosters, I think G27 has the stronger team. SS has pretty much put all of his eggs in one basket, going for the full BAR roster (Sato/Button/BAR chassis/Honda engines/Michelin tires). Now the Michelins are a solid choice for anyone, but if BAR has a bad race (like a double-DNF), it will almost definitely put G27 right back in the thick of the battle for the points lead. And chances are MS's car will not fail, unless he chooses another bad time at which to apply his brakes.

Between those two, my money's on G27.

Thanks, but im not nearly as confident as you are in me. We're only half way through the season, a lot can still happen. There are some teams with big money below SS and I.

I agree with G27, there are a few teams that could really improve their lineup this week and get right back into it.

That being said, you are assuming that I will stick with my current lineup for the rest of the year.

So... ummm... yeah...

I updated the standings way up top.

Does anyone even watch F1 these days? I don't remember the last time I watched an F1 race live. I remember watching the re-air of Monaco this year, but that's been it for some years.

I watch every race and most of the practice airings too.

I've only seen one race live this season..that was Canada.

I'm pretty sure Smooth watches the races live. The early morning race times match his normal schedule, I believe.

The only race I haven't seen live on TV was Canada. The other would be the USGP which I saw live, in person.

They may be boring at times from the standpoint of who is winning but the rest of the pack has been alot of fun to watch.

Saturday and Sunday live. Friday on tape.
Boring~ schewy is getting beat, changes strategy, hauls arse like only he could, extra pit to win. Brilliant.
rubens, truli, button, in a tight one till the end, with what happend to trulli? That was the best. Rubens passing Jarno last corner last lap. I love seeing that monkeys points grow!
