For those of you who might be worried about downloading software from the net, I've checked this over using:
AVG v6.0.5 anti-virus
LavaSoft Ad-Aware 6.0 spyware detector
My system has come up clean on both counts.

I would heartily recommend anyone who does not have anti-virus to download AVG 6.0 from www.grisoft.com, a firewall to get ZoneAlarm from www.zonelabs.com and Ad-Aware6 is a good idea from www.lavasoftusa.com. All of these programs are free

Coincidentally or not, this matches the latter time reported in the ZoneAlarm alert:

The firewall has blocked Internet access to your computer (UDP Port 1072) from 213.1.119.101 (DNS).

Occurred: 2 times between 15/01/2004 23:57:26 and 16/01/2004 00:10:34

@ WasteGate - sorry mate for the abrupt departure ... but I guess someone is telling me it's tme to hit the sack anyway.
Catch ya another time ... (I didn't really have anything interestng to say anyway )

I wonder, P2, if that isn't the chat server pinging your PC to see it's still working and connected.

If said this in the chatroom * player2 has quit IRC (Ping timeout). Or maybe your PC needed some sleep as well

Okay, it appears Jade is the most reliable server...

I said to use Dragons yesterday because that's the one I was on (and which was still operating).

The only time I get that is at the office, due to DirecWay/Sygate Office. I've got Sygate firewall running at home. You just have to allow the app, and it'll be fine. As far as what happens at the office, I'm just blaming this shitastic satellite. It'll get thru, eventually. It just might take 15 tries. Other times, it's on the first shot. :boggle:

Me & Mich started with a non-bannered net-split room, but after we were chatting a while, the net un-splt and the banner appeared.

I don't see any message to indicate we lost the banner, so I'm guessing that you, James, don't have the banner, and we are the official chat!

In any case, as I was prompting 'Mich earlier during our excommunication, any chat room containing GT3Mich and player2 is probably the de facto 'official' chat room of the GTBN!

That's odd, because when I joined, I saw the banner, and the user list had the following people in it:

GT3mich
player2
Ana[a] (aka Anaesthesia)
eggmann
WasteGate

so I've no explanation for that one.

I couldn't get on today. Or rather, I got on somewhere, but it was in a room all by my lonesome that I don't think was the regular room.

Ah well, less distractions then so I can get in more practice.
