Not being vain or anything (why on earth would I want anyone to witness my ugly mug?) but my picture doesn't show up Santi .

Oh and Lady S sends her good wishes for saying such nice things about me .

I guess I accidentally deleted it when I was working on the site last.

Fixed.

The HondaKid doesn't do that. And on that note, you get compliments because you're a badass, not for any other reason.

By the way... when GT4 comes out, I promise to give you guys a reason to add me to the Driver Bios page.

Hey HondaKid -

If you want your Driver Bio on the site now, just follow the instructions I posted on page 3 of this thread. Search for "11 September 2004, 12:08pm PDT" when you load the page and it'll take you right to the post with the instructions.

Update: 24 November 2004, 1:57pm PST:

  • Added reddog78's bio to the site.
  • Updated a bunch of pages for W3C HTML/CSS standards compliance. I'll probably spend the rest of today working on that before I do a few more Spot Race summaries.

I suppose that a prudent qualification for having a driver bio would be to actually participate in OLR, which I haven't ever formally done (gasp!).

When GT4 comes out, though, I'm going to enter the fray.

    Chiefly, yes.

But I'm going to get over it in time for GT4 -- I'm a terrible driver, but what matters to me is simply racing in the first place. I learned that lesson in real life, and now I plan to carry it over to the GT OLR community.

    Update: 21 February 2005, 1:11am PST:

    THE FINAL PUSH

With just one day left to Day One of the Gran Turismo 4 Era, I'm putting in the last few things to do, hoping to have everything ready to go live at 00:00:00 BT on 22 February, which is just under 22 hours from now. I have about 15 Spot Race Summaries left to complete, but I have all day and I should be able to finish them in a few hours, so I'm gonna get up early and start pounding code like there's no tomorrow, because, as far as I'm concerned, there is no tomorrow. Once I finish the Summaries, I have one more Driver Bio to compose, and then I'm going to read through all the source code for all the pages and check them for consistency and errors (though I'm sure I'll probably miss something).

Glenn/GB24Hours: Expect a .ZIP file of everything ready to go in your Inbox sometime late afternoon/early evening GTBN HQ time. I'm gonna be high on caffeine tomorrow because I intend to finish this site before the 22nd, or die trying.

Good night, my comrades. See you on the other side.

Just finished the Spot Race Summaries. Now for the double checking. After that, I'm gonna tweak the website masthead/logo a bit.

I knew you were busy, but this just show's how much.

Geeze, I have trouble just putting a picture in my posts.

If I could find a clapping img I'll insert here.

I have to say, at first glance I didn't understand or like the logo(below) on the main homepage (maybe I'd figure it out if I read this entire thread...), but once I was playing GT4 last night it all became clear to me. It's brilliant!

What's really awesome is that I was browsing a UK-based Official Gran Turismo website, and there was this link on it that said "sitekit." Curious, I clicked the link and was presented with a zip file containing official car photos, logos, and sounds from the Gran Turismo series. I used the logos file to make the new masthead, trying to reproduce the look of the official GT logo. I think it came out pretty well.
