Ever since I first found and joined this site, I've been waiting to see if the Driver Bios (on the intro page) would ever be activated. Maybe I'm the only one but I've often wondered what my fellow 'Numbers' racers did in RL, was anyone as old as me, etc., etc., etc.

There seems to be such a spirit of community and friendliness on this site and what with all the baby announcements and so forth, it's gotten me thinking aboout it. GB, what are your plans? And more importantly, is anyone else curious or interested, as well?

I suspect I'm not too far away from some of you guys. I'm almost 48. (There, I said it ). Sometimes I just feel "old".

I didn't mean to imply I (or anyone else) was a fossil but sheesh, I'm pretty sure I'm gonna have to get bifocals next time I go to the eye doctor. I've really been putting it off too long cause I'm afraid of the answer .

Anyway, I am curious about my "colleages" so I thought I'd see what people had to say!

36 (Thanks for making me feel young for a change.)

Gilles27 made an example Bio sheet for us just as GTRC 2002 was getting started.... it was my intent to tie the GTRC, Bio's, and Car Numbers all together.... but I just didn't have the time or energy to do it all at once. Maybe now, as Rikki points out, is a good time to get these going again.

In the next couple of days I will make a post with some sample Bio pages, and a form for everyone to copy and paste into an e-mail. I'll do my best to get things squared away for everyone!

Thanks for bringing it up!

JT,
You must be a careful radiologist if you have three kids or are you not into the more traditional methods of imaging?

Fishing is a major passion of mine. I love fishing trout, salmon, bass, striped bass, mackeral, and perch. I also fly fish, and fly tie(if your a fly fisher, check out my auctions on ebay, under the same name as here). I'm also an avid hunter. I perfer waterfowl hunting, and had a stellar season this year. Anyone else hunt?

Nope, but it is certainly a rite of passage around here (waterfowl, deer, elk). I probably would hunt, since I like shooting, but I don't care for the meat. Silly, huh?

ahh the fish thing, it all started when I was about 8/9 years old.

I was munching a fish finger and told my Mum that it was full of bones. She did not believe me and told me to eat up.

So I did and got a bone stuck accross my throat. I went to the doctor straight away and he couldn't get it out. So then I went to the local small hospital and they couldn't get it out either. So then I went to a big hospital and they couldn't get it out.

They went off to have a think about it, I did a huge cough and the constriction in my throat was so strong that the bone snapped!

A few years later in a very hot summer we were stuck in a traffic jam for several hours, a fish lorry about 2 or 3 cars ahead had a problem and all the fish fell out the back and onto the road. In the heat you can imagine what the smell was like after an hour or so. It was so bad I was sick.

As you can imagine I have been scared for life now and do not eat fish at all. A few people have tried to sneak some in my food, but somehow I just know instantly.

On the Wedding thing, we will be getting married at the end of the summer next year, although we have not set a date yeat as we are too busy! (or something like that!)

After that story I can understand. I'm not a big fish eater myself but I have had Pan fried Canadian walleye(fishing trip in northern Ontario) and it was great. It must be the cold water.

I'm 38, married, 2 kids.

Surprise, surprise, I drive boats for a living. Rescue boats, actually. Very cool boats with plenty of horses that go fast (for boats, that is). Check the link in my signature if you want some pictures, etc. My dad and I own the business, and I do all the website stuff, so GB, if you want some help making pages, let me know...

Mostly fun...it's somewhat like being in the army (I'm told)...Long periods of boredom punctuated by brief moments of abject terror.

BTW, great call for Spot XVII, rikki; I've never had so much fun gettin' dirty! I don't think I'm ever gonna run anything but FR's on dirt tracks again!

I used to cook fish for a living - I was a sous-chef in a fish house for 7 years. I've filleted more atlantic salmon, ocean bass, mahi mahi, grouper, redfish, cod, hake, and halibut; trimmed more bluefin tuna, mako, marlin, and sword; cleaned more Maryland softshell crab and Maine hardshell lobster; and shucked more oysters, cherrystones, and scallops than I care to think of.

In fact, the restaurant business is what drove me into medicine. Although I think the three kids had more to do with the oysters and less to do with the caution around radiation!

JT,
Hmm, you medic boys are a bit more sophisticated than us animal people, aim....yell X-RAYS!! at the top of voice whilst hiding behind a wall/door...with the use of anti-scatter tables and wait for Bremsstrahlung/K-shell knockout do it's best!
Over-exposure sorted/filled in with a magic marker.
Still, I've just been blessed with a little girl, oysters sound safer.
Seriously, the amount of energy to get a good cattle head/hoof radiograph is frightening, a bit of jest on the complacent safety attitude!

Marc,
Yea! 7th Nov, little girl, I said all along it'll be a girl, everyone else was sure my wife was carrying a boy.
So, I got everything done in a year, got married whilst my now wife was 8 weeks pregnant.
You get married at some point I see, remember having a family will slow you down, unless your fiance has a bigger car than the type R, you'll have to go get a renault savanna or something

Hi brianw13. I see you're tearing things up over at GT3times. I was hoping you might have noticed and joined Spot Race XVII at Smokey Mtn and handed us our butts on a platter!

yeah, it's called a labotomy, LOL... j/k.

BTW,... I'll take a peek at the spot race, if it hasn't finished. I have a lot more time to race since I recently found out that GT3T wont be runnin their qualifiers for the GTBV2 for a while yet.

Nice place you guy's got here,... never had the time to check things out until recently

As far as getting hair in my ears is concerned,... that's a crap-shoot with the man above,... so far I've lost the battle against the 'back hair'! LOL!!!

EDIT:

Looks as if I missed out on the spot race this time,..... BTW,... I have a score to settle with LDM!!! LOL,... he ambushed MANY of my GOLDS at GT3T! ,........... good job LDM
