Thanks guys . The girls are doing way better than expected. My wife will be discharged on Monday and I hope we'll be able to take the girls home as well. At the moment most of my fatherhood is spent on the phone or sitting at the laptop uploading baby pictures and answering e-mails. Life's great .

Great thing is that I can check on little Siëna and Zoë when at home via the internet. The hospital provides a free service where I can watch them via 2 webcams 24 hours a day. A lot better than a 24 hour slog around La Sarthe .

Been a pretty busy half year with moving to a larger house and the twins. They're almost seven months old now and doing great. The first month was rough when both girls were still in hospital and we had to decorate the new house but after that it's been brilliant. The twins laugh a lot and enjoy watching daddy on the Wii/PS2. I hope it stays this way.

The twins sleep from 7 to 7 so I can finally get back to some racing. Only problem is I've lost all my spreadsheets with races etc. thanks to a hard disk crash. Hard disk isn't detected so I can't do anything with it. Annoying thing is that my USB-backup is corrupted too... I might try to get some data off it via a recovery service but that'll cost in the region of 750 euro's......

Luckily I posted just about everything in my rerun of the game here, so it should be an evening's work before the Legend tackles those License tests again . Only thing is the Legend now needs glasses....I might have to start from scratch .

Hey, great stuff R&R! Home made fan club and all!

Sorry to hear about your data woes - always a bummer.

OK, I've finally started the new spreadsheet and am using all posted data here to see what I raced where and how (or something like that ). Just in time for some Christmas fun.

I do have more time in the evenings but most time has been spent on other games (online).

I still play quite a bit of Trackmania United on the PC. A few months ago I also discovered a website via which I can play the Amiga version of Sensible Soccer online. It's a mostly European thing though I have played people from the US, Argentina and Brazil (major ping though!!!).

Another occasional timewaster is Grand Slam Tennis on the Wii. The game plays great offline but is slightly bugged online with an occasional service bug and an unreal amount of netrushers (I like net play, but I prefer to use it when it's supposed to be used...not every single point....). Still I've had some fun online and played people from all over the world.

Last timewaster has been Tiger Woods 10, again on the Wii. Some players are insane online. I can play rounds in the low 60s online, but people who get under 50 need a social life (bar the Wii) .

Anybody play any of these games online?

More soon...back to playing daddy .

Seeing as educational dictators get long summer holidays, the Legend had plenty of time to return to the GT-universe. He didn't return to A-spec hunting though. No, for years he had heard of a place where fellows legends could compete in head-to-head combat, the Pro Log.

After signing up he headed to pastures new, a place called Lon Don. Riding his trusty Integra he did battle and won more than he lost, though he did suffer many a whiplash at the first corner (yep, there are a lot of idiots online).

He looked around and smelled gold. It took him about 5 hours, but he gained all 30 pieces in such exotic places as Cevents, Bevents and Aevents. Upon finally emulating his old Carmageddon days in a Ferrari (surely it's impossible without touching the AI?!) he received a key with which he could finally open the portal to Se Vents, the pinnacle of offline racing in Pro Log.

He finished off getting a few more golds (up to 35 now) in Se Vents, and running a lot of online races in the mountains of Switzerland. Time to find shelter for the night, before discovering more of Pro Log's secrets.

Done:
- Finally got a PS3 + Prologue for my birthday
- Finally activated my PS3-nick: RockAndRoll
- Gained all gold trophies in the C, B and A-events.
- Raced online in the beginner's event at London (won a lot too, especially when I finally remembered to turn TCS off...)
- Raced online in the intermediate event at Eiger Nordwand (am running 1'07 - 1'09 per lap, but still not quite good enough at this circuit to win in my Impreza).
- Had a lot of fun so far . But the Gold Trophies were way too easy....

Done one more gold in the S-events and played with the Ferrari Suzuka event but only bronze so far (I want to gold this one first before tackling the others). That Ferrari one seems to be a tough challenge for little old me. I can get 3rd no problems, but I still need to put a lot of work in this.

I can reach T1 around 3.8 secs down but I'm not gaining time in the next section...that's where I need some more work. Maybe I need to fiddle with the setup, but I'm useless at that kind of work. We'll get back to it later .

Online I'm finding a bit of a chore so far. The only event I'm enjoying / doing ok at is the Intermediate Eiger race with my Clio. I've seen some good races get close to 5'30 total time but my 5'40 is usually good enough for a medal. I like Eiger, and usually get some good races there.

The beginners races are really just pinball competitions and I'm sick of (e.g.) getting shunted at the High Speed Ring causing me to slam into the boards and gaining a penalty . Why do people enjoy this kind of thing? At the beginner's course / Motorland I can understand it, but not at the Prologue circuits...

The Expert races / Time Trials I'm not tackling until I complete the S-events with standard physics. I tried the 10 laps at Suzuka but I got lapped thanks to all the offs etc.. I need more practice.

I got my first spam friend invite on the PS3, so I must be important :P. I now have four games (Prologue, FIFA World Cup, Beijing 2008 and Vancouver 2010) and that's the way it's staying till GT5 comes out around next Christmas :P.

Back to more Ferrari practice .
