OK, I'll bite...

How did you notice that? (My RX-8 has smoked glass and it's really hard to see which side the wheel is, eg. in the Garage view. I had to drive some free run laps and get up really close to the ghost to confirm that the driver is sitting on the left.)

And what made you realize that it was unusual? It has never occurred to me to consider whether any of the cars has left or right hand drive.

And shouldn't this be posted in GT3 Trivia ?

All the RX-7s in GT3 are based on models sold in Japan = right-hand drive

The RX-8 is based on the version sold in the U.S. = left-hand drive.

It's that simple.

santiago - ok, but why would they use the US based version of the RX-8? i FIGURED that it was the US model... but wondered why they'd use a US spec version when every other car is JDM spec.

player2 - when driving most of the cars, you can see the round helmet on the side of the car the driver sits. its fairly obvious. i just noticed when watching replays of different cars, where the driver is sitting.

anyhows.... just a piece of useless trivia!

They're American. Of course they're left-hand drive.

The new GT is left hand drive, but the old GT40's are right hand drive. The gearshift was on the right of the driver, presumably for the mostly American driver line-up.

Both the GT40 road-car and the GT40 Race Car have the driver positioned on the left side in my game (NTSC). I’m not sure if this is historically accurate or not.

Turns out I'm quite wrong on the right hand drive for the GT40's. The cars are accurately depicted in GT3.

The Acura RSX Type-S is right-hand drive. It is displayed at the Acura dealer in the USA section and doesn’t have a “(J)” after the name. So one might assume that it would be left-hand drive. However, I think it is most likely representing the Japanese model.
