I guess that's true, but I always figured LM was short for Le Mans... I mean, I've never heard it used in conjunction with something other than Le Mans. IP: Logged |

Maybe its like so many other acronyms 'tacked' onto cars, and doesn't necessarily imply Le Mans? Limited Model? IP: Logged |

Only problem with that theory I think is it's tacked on to many models from many manufacturers. Mazda RX-7 LM Race Car ------------------ IP: Logged |

In the Car Class selection screen under Arcade Mode, where it has the C, B, A, S, Rally, and Garage icons, highlight S but don't enter. Wait a few seconds for the names of the cars to start scrolling by on the left. Notice the line that says "PENZOIL GTR", missing one N from Pennzoil. (NTSC:USA,CDN) ------------------ IP: Logged |

I don't know if anyone has already come across this, and whether it's a PAL problem only but: Buy a VW Beetle 2.0 This works whichever one you do last. I can only assume this is a "bug". Geddit? IP: Logged |

Too lazy to read the whole thread so sorry if its been mentioned before.Anyone remember the bird in the opening sequence of GT1.. It was sitting on the lights gantry and flew off. Well it's in GT3 too, just hard to spot. in the Arcade mode page,( where it says single race, free run etc), watch the red letter "A" of "arcade mode" top left of the screen it flies by it. pretty trivial huh? In the Pro Avant Garde two-race series, there is a spelling error of "Avant Grade" below the scripted title. I still haven't won the second race... maybe I'm distracted. Cheers, MasterGT IP: Logged |

In the NTSC edition of GT3 it is possible to win 100% of GT3 driving only fifteen of your garage cars. In the PAL edition, it is necesary to drive a minimum of sixteen garage cars to win 100%. PS. Unless you know different? [This message has been edited by player2 (edited 04-21-2004).] IP: Logged |

wayn¤z, hi and welcome to the numbers. To be truthful this is not the place you should be asking this sort of question - bad form for sure. No biggy this time. I think someone has done a 48.5 in a Poly 001! If you need to ask any more questions like this and you can't find any answers after using the seach button then start a thread or ask it in a related post. Someone will get to you in good time and it keeps everything relative. Again welcome and enjoy your stay. IP: Logged |

It wont stall but it takes 5 seconds to rev upto 2500 or so. If the Beetle ROM is placed in a hybrid car, the hybrid wont rev. IP: Logged |

Dial-up. Sue me. I'll add it to my list of knowledge, for future reference... ![]() SSR5 and SSR11 are both in Tokyo, along with R246. I've never bothered to search out maps of them though. I might try at work tomorrow...

I recently found a bug you guys might be interested in, though it only applies to wheel users. Set the wheel to Simulation mode in the options and run a Simulation mode (GT mode) Rally race in a powerful FR car at SS R5 Wet with no TCS or ASM. Running around in qualifying it's easy to use the wheel to correct slides, but once you run in the race it's almost impossible to collect a large slide before you spin. My conclusion is that the wheel will not go into Sim mode for qualifying, even though it does in the race for the same meeting. IP: Logged |

You guys want to know the best cock-up in GT3 ? Vauxhall "Caribra" race-car. Thats nice, reminds me of the old Mitsubishi Stallion/Starion joke !! This maybe just a PAL error, but it deffinately says Caribra in my garage ! IP: Logged |

quote: Not terribly surprising though - and yes, it's common to all versions (except it's only a Vauxhall in PAL/English language - it's an Opel everywhere else). The "Starion" gag is also actually true... Anyway, nice to see another Sheffielder about. Whereabouts in God's Own City are you from? I'm a Chapeltowner. GT3 uses an absurd conversion factor of 1.5km/mile. It should of course be, to 3dp, 1.609km/mile. How's that for trivia? ------------------ IP: Logged |

Or to four decimals 1.6091 LOL A kilometer is, obviously, 0.621 of a mile. I have to ask how you noticed that one Famine? ------------------ IP: Logged |

My main gamefile is an NTSC-to-PAL conversion, so that I can run on track in mph. A curious oddity of this is that the Data Analyser speeds and distances are still metric... And there's a hell of a discrepancy between the displayed speed at a given point in the replay and the speed indicated by the graph. ------------------ IP: Logged |

Sound Effect: GT3 uses X,Y co-ordinates for proximity (the right way to do it...) If you drive on Tahiti Maze tracks, you can hear AI cars when they are near you relatively (as a bird flies), but far behind you following the roadway. You can hear them well after you have "blown their doors off", as you pass each other going in the opposite direction, while in the loops. MasterGT IP: Logged |

Yo Famine, We are at opposite ends, you're up at Chap and Im down in Greenhill. We've a few Chap residents working at our offices off Abbeydale Road. Im glad youve mentioned the km/miles conversions, as I had a theory about that being wrong. The sound thing is right as well, you can only hear other cars when the are along side you, and in the distance when passing. IP: Logged |

Agreed with Spen on the C5R, Camaro Racer and some others. The only decent V8 rumble comes from the GT40 racer, and to an extent from the Cobra (by far not LOUD enough!) and the Panoz. The Griffith with it's British V8 sounds nice too. Particularly disappointing is adding sports/race exhausts to Camaros or the Mustang, that doesn't sound like V8 at all. If these cars sounded anywhere near my 5.0 Mustang with Flowmasters I'd be driving these alot more. ![]() IP: Logged |

I was just on the records page when i saw the section 'hybrid' ... ... could anybody please tell me wtf is a HYBRID, and what makes them different to any other car thanx IP: Logged |

Hybrid Builders Outlet should answer most of your questions. It's basically a way of modifying the cars that's not available in the game without a x-port/gameshark/action replay type device. [This message has been edited by eggmann (edited 09-14-2004).] IP: Logged |

I've been running tight races against various ghost cars in "License Test" again. There's something odd... Racing up a flat straightaway, in the middle of the track, miles from the wall (eg. the race to turn 1 at S-5: SSR5 Wet) ... and suddenly, "bump", the wheel in your hand gives a kick! Is it my imagination, or does this only happen when you are overlapped with the ghost? I think there's a bug in the program which occasionally lets you 'collide' with the ghost car. Sends a shiver up your spine too! [This message has been edited by player2 (edited 09-21-2004).] IP: Logged |

Here's some trivia I just discovered. There are TWO Dodge Viper GTS-R Team Oreca race cars in GT3. One is #91 - well known the the NTSC-U/C drivers as the Arcade Viper Oreca The other is #51, and you can catch a glimpse of it in the GT3 intro movie. ------------------ IP: Logged |

Hey Famine, How's things ? Last weekend, I was out gardening and heard this way-out growly, bad tempered sounding motor decending Bocking Lane (yes, you non-Sheffielders, thats spelt right), poppong and banging on the over-run, I looked up the road and yes, it was a genuine road-legal Speed 12 ! The engine note on GT3 is spot on, I can now state. It accelarates damn quick, and stops like nothing Ive seen before ! Thats what you have to be ready for trying to drive a monster like that on a busy road with parked cars etc. It had a Speed 6 as a follower, and you couldnt even hear that engine over the AJP-12 in the Speed even though the 12 wasnt under load ! See yah. IP: Logged |
