Well, it looks like the missus is working on Sunday, so that means I can host an instant race.

New Time! 3pm EST

Yep, this Sunday, at 3pm EST (AKA New York City Time), we'll have another one. Unfortunately with GTP being out of commission, I'm looking for a new home. I know GTBN has a chat room, but it requires registration, so ... I'll post one up on deralta.net at www.deralta.net/instant

I'll have the car and track picked for the first one, and the car picked for the second one. The 3rd place finisher picks the track for the second race.

Hope to see a few of you there.

If it's the usual 2 races event, I'll be in the last one.

I've got the free time, so it's quite easily planned to be 2 races.

See you there

Have fun and good luck to all the racers, anyway.

Santiago,

I've always wanted to run one a bit later in the day, as I'm usually hard pressed to make here just in time. The problem being, most of Europe is 6+ hours after I am. Meaning they usually start the races at 7pm and end somewhere around 9:30pm. Add two hours to that and it's pretty late.

I have begun to debate the idea of running 4 races in one day, basically starting at 1pm and running straight through until 6pm. The hindrance being getting a full account of racers. 5 hours of intense racing (You'd be suprised how short 1 hour is) can be a bit much. Think "spot race intensity" for the entire Tokyo R246 enduro.

It does leave a bit to consider though. Thanks for the input.

Thre have been many days where I spent 5 hours straight working on a single race. 5 different races would be much easier, and probably more fun.

Hey, British guys! (hehe) How late you guys stay up most nights?

(I know WasteGate stays up pretty late most of the time... I'm guessing till about 1am offhand, but I'm not 100% sure of that.)

I'm on Central European Time. 1 hour ahead of the GMT and the British Racers.

I've missed a lot of AO's instant races, because I'm busy tucking up the kids. When there's two races I can barely be ready to the second one, usually starting at 8 PM local time.

Starting 2 hours later would be great for me. Racing two races from 9-11 PM (again local time) would suit me perfect. Results would be up at 11.30 PM latest, and that would give me half an hour to get control of my excitement, nerves, pounding heart and general shakiness before bedtime.

Yeah-I`m with Santi and fellow Dane Niels
( Davs du!) on starting a couple of hours later.
Then I would only have to fight the wife
(pleading, and begging would be more accurate ) instead of having to fight the kids as well.
No matter what I`ll try to be there if I don`t end up scewing the time-difference-thing up

I'm going to be out for most of tomorrow, but I'll see if I can swing it to be back in time for the second race.

After a long discussion with many of the Europeans and West Coast USA people, I've changed the start time.

3PM tomorrow.

See you there

NYC time is the same as GTBN Board Time, so hopefully that'll help.

This link goes to a World Clock that I set up with 5 time zones for the GTBN OLR drivers, so they could figure out exactly what local time they needed to join the chat for instant race/send a race time/etc.

It lists:
Los Angeles, California, USA (Pacific Time)
Orlando, Florida, USA (Eastern Time, aka Board Time)
London, England, United Kingdom
Sydney, New South Wales, Australia
Auckland, New Zealand

I picked those cities because based on where everyone lives (those that I know anyway), I figured everyone would know the difference between their time and the time in one of those cities, and then could compare it with the time in Orlando (which is Board Time).

Bookmark as desired.

I know you usually host these at GTP, and since it's back up, are you going to move back there after this week, keep the instant race series here, or run them on both sites?

If GTBN would have me, I'll continue to host them here. This is the first one I've run from here, and there were 17 racers.

I don't think we had more than 13 when running it off GTP. So Next Sunday's race will be hosted here.

Thanks guys,

AO

DA, go right ahead. This week was a family birthday so I couldn't race short of getting in major trouble. If next week is at 3:00pm I may be able to do the 1st race. Glad to see the great turn out for such an old game!
