| Nearly a year and a half ago, in a small, quiet room by myself, I sat down at my computer, fired up WordPad, and began to work on a website, dabbing here and poking there, not really knowing what I was going to create, or how I would create it.
Several months later, I put away my WordPad for a moment, looked around, and I found that I was now seated alone in a different room, but a room still quiet and only slightly bigger, and staring at the very same website I had worked on in the months previous. Only it was different. It was filled with much of the same text as before, and some of the same images, but there were new additions... some of them not my own, with bright colors and visuals, and with some completely new changes, some big, some small. Another look around showed that I was no longer alone. The room was now full of people. Some are standing right next of me, close to my computer, typing away and moving files about. Others are standing just behind me, looking over my shoulder, telling me I should change such-and-such color and move such-and-such picture. Even more are looking at my website from a distance, some giving approval. The others find some opportune time to quietly whisper to me privately, "You can do better." Every single one of those people has helped me a great deal. It hasn't been easy to complete this work. There have been meals skipped, sleep lost, stress endured. I've also had to learn (and re-learn) to accept criticism, which is hard for something I take so personally as the designs of the websites I build or update, but GTBN Volume 4 wouldn't be what it is today without help from the many people who have given to me of themselves over these last year and a half. Who are these people? They are the members and residents of Gran Turismo By Numbers, be they long-time veterans who have made their homes here since GT1, or the new neighbors who have moved in just within the last couple of months. It is for them that I have toiled, to give them the best site I could have possibly given them. I hope that GTBN, in one way or another, has helped to make your world a smaller, brighter and better place, be it through my own efforts, or those of others.
